Week 19

Hola! Bendiciones! Buenos/as días-noches! All that...

What's going on guys, this week was pretty dope. I'm like 2 weeks behind and don't have any time at all so in the words of Elder Parkinson, "let's get into it."

Our ward is amazing. This zone is known for baptizing a lot of young families and kids as I have become accustomed to. In one of our meetings with our leaders they basically told us to keep baptising kids and they will keep them active. That is so sick because there's a lot of people who need callings, and the more ministering there is to do, the more people can minister. Idk, we've been focusing on strengthening our ward this month because I love brother Albert (ward mission leader) but he has no idea how to work and doesn't wanna have meetings too lol. So, we've been ministering to him and helping him fulfill his calling while teaching him how to host meetings and what he needs to do.

One of our friends named Max got baptized! Now his story is really cool. He has been in teaching for like 4 months which for someone of his age here is really long. He's one of the smartest people I've ever known because the reason he hadn't been baptized yet was because he didn't know which church was true. My first transfer we taught him how to receive revelation and he was able to receive and answer... Just on time to go on vacation for a month in the city of Oaxaca like 7 hours away lol. He continued to read the Book of Mormon and pray and one day I randomly ran into him a month later, making it possible to resume teaching. He told us he had received revelation and was ready to be baptized.

I learned how to play majic the gathering... yk what I don't care that it's weird alr, the missions weird and I can't stop winning at this game. 💪💪 (also sorry Elder Moberly, majic is waaayyy better than Pokémon)

The weather finally cooled down so we chillin outside, literally. Still need to blast the ac at night. Also, it's like 80 degrees and I'm wearing a sweater... I am no longer accustomed to the cold.

One thing that I learned this week is how necessary it is to center our lives on christ. As it says in Helamen 5:12: "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." I love to connect this scripture to Either 12:27: "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." When we center our lives on Christ, the devil has no power. With a life centered on Christ, we are able to build an unshakable foundation that allows us to grow and develop into the person God needs us to be. I know this to be true and can promise that anyone who centers their life on Christ will be ready when he comes again.

Love you guys!
