WEEK 14
Feliz Navidad a todos!!
This week and a half have been a little crazy. Have to admit, we were not able to do too much because we had a lot of small-time consuming things to do with our members.
We had 2 more baptisms at the beginning of the week!!! I've spoken about Christian quite a bit, he is a miracle. On the day of his baptism (he was more excited for this than Christmas) we could NOT find him. His mom was not responding and like an hour before his baptism we just decided to run up there and check, HE WASN'T THERE! After we panicked and prayed his mom finally called us... and guess where he was. Bro's grandpa straight up drove him to the church without telling us, so while we were about to start panicking, he was just chilling at the empty church. In the end it was great because we got to teach his grandpa about baptism.
Angel's story (our other miracle) has been talked about too but just to recap... his family is heavily based in the catholic traditions, which angel didn't believe in. We were given crazy revelations through his teacher and uncle about religious freedom that led the spirit to be able to step in and touch his heart. His story and testimony are already so incredible, I can't wait to watch him continue to grow.
Other than that, we have been able to get a few more people on date and see many more miracles that I'll talk about on Monday.
We had a ward Christmas party which turned into a massive Spanish game of musical chairs hahaha. Also, some guys gave me their hat and said I looked Mexican. I have been accepted!
Bishop had us over for dinner and in true missionary fashion we taught him how to play Black-jack.
I love the mission; I love it so much. It is so hard but there are always bright sides right after the hard times. Something I saw this Christmas is the true power of miracles. The heavens are opened to those who search with a sincere heart, open to God. I can promise that if you are able to humble yourselves before God and earnestly seek his counsel, he will guide you. Seek miracles and trust in his timing. I can promise that if you are patient and earnestly seek his help you will find him in every second of every day. God is our loving heavenly father; he will never abandon you.
Love you guys,
Elder LaBass
