Week 7

I love México! This week has been incredible and I know that's like every week but I mean it fr this time. Probably my lowest and highest moments were this week. Oh also, if y'all had me on messenger I don't have that anymore cuz prez said nah but if you wanna shoot me a message through email that's totally fine :).

First of all, gotta give a shout out to my boy Elder Watson, hommie gave me a razor in the CCM and it has been saving my life out here. 

If you know anything about bikes go look at the picture of the red one, specifically the frame. (Focus on the rear shock).

I got crazy sick Monday and couldn't leave bed for two days which SUCKED because we had 4 baptisms set for this week, 2 for next and about 2 other friends that are ready to be given a fecha so there was a lot of work to be done... and I was asleep for like 38 hours straight according to my wonderful comp lol. He's actually awesome, I couldn't eat the food out here for a whole 4 days so he made me oatmeal 🙃.

Funny story... my first day being able to eat normal food was intercambios and the Hermana that fed us was actually concerned that the food was going to kill my stomach... I was fine, kinda. The next say we came back and once again the food was set to not end so well. We got mole and if you don't know what that is just imagine everything spicy in the world thrown into a big pot and mixed into chocolate sauce... yummy. But once again by the grace of our heavenly father I was spared... kinda. 

Our friend Alexis is incredible. This guy is so spiritually minded and is such an amazing light on the streets. We got him to pray about the Book of Mormon and he told us he knows this book and this gospel is true. There are some small things that we are helping him with but I know he will start his covenant path soon. The main thing that blows my mind is his example. Every lesson we have had with him he has invited 1 or 4 of his friends to listen. He even taught everyone how to pray💪💪💪. Funny story, we had to be home by 8 cuz this area is dangerous, but we were running a lil late so Alexis and all his friends gave us an escort on their bikes hahahah.

We had 4 baptisms on Sunday from out area. I personally baptized a little girl named Grisel, she is such a happy soul. These kids are awesome and I can't wait to see how they are with the gift of the holy ghost. 

Spiritually, I am amazed on the power that being an example for others holds. Examples like Alexis and many others that shine with the light of Christ have an incredible influence on everyone. However, the opposite is true. Those that have a responsibility to be an example to others but refuse to drag everyone around them away from the covenant path and the love of God. I implore y'all, this world needs good examples. Be like those found in the Book of Mormon, Nephi, Moroni, and many more that are steadfast in being an example of love and light. 

Summary: I got sick but my comps the best and took care of me :) The food here is out to get me but it's still so good, our friends are incredible and there is a lot of work to be done. We had four baps, so awesome. Be an example, the world needs it, you need it, and most importantly God needs you to be an example of love and light.

Week 6 from Oaxaca

  Bendiciones!!!!!  This week has easily been the hardest week yet. Saying goodbye to the CCM family was crazy difficult but I'm so happy that we are all in field now!  The last night at the CCM our flight was set for 2AM... who does that... it's a 1 hour flight... Why 2am? So no one slept at all, we all just stayed up talking and playing cards. Once we got to Oaxaca we all crashed in a hotel and slept for four hours.  Currently I am in Juchitán, Xochixlon 3 area! This place is crazy because all non-member adults are the laziest people ever, but the niños... they are so awesome!! We have about 7 people on date for next week right now (2 of which were placed by us) and they are all under 15... nice. These kids are awesome, we will be sitting on the street teaching on and then all of a sudden 7 more pull up out of nowhere and listen in. It's so awesome how strong these kids' spirits are. Week 12

   Bendiciones!!! One of our members tried to kill me. She fed us this amazing food that's basically everything delicious... in a massive fried chilly... I don't have a good spice tolerance. This was definitely a week of miracles! As we dedicated ourselves more and put effort where needed through prayer, we saw God step in and cover what we couldn't.  What I mean:  1. First story is about a kid named Angel. He's friends with our amazing member-nonmember, Alexis, that's how we found him. We had been teaching him for a while, but he wasn't really progressing, so we were close to dropping him. I kept having this feeling each time I thought about him to go and contact him. One day we planned on simply dropping the ball with him, as in he can choose whether to keep meeting with us with the intent of going to church or we were going to stop passing by.... He now has a baptismal date lol. What happened was he was so caught up on believing the same things as his family ...

WEEK 14

Feliz Navidad a todos!! This week and a half have been a little crazy. Have to admit, we were not able to do too much because we had a lot of small-time consuming things to do with our members.  We had 2 more baptisms at the beginning of the week!!! I've spoken about Christian quite a bit, he is a miracle. On the day of his baptism (he was more excited for this than Christmas) we could NOT find him. His mom was not responding and like an hour before his baptism we just decided to run up there and check, HE WASN'T THERE! After we panicked and prayed his mom finally called us... and guess where he was. Bro's grandpa straight up drove him to the church without telling us, so while we were about to start panicking, he was just chilling at the empty church. In the end it was great because we got to teach his grandpa about baptism.
