Week 10

Hola, bendiciones!!!!

I did a whoopsie and forgot to press send on the email from last week... so I gotta send 2 this week hehe (sorry mum).

Any who, this week was buenísimo!! We are seeing a lot of success and progression with our people!!! I'm learning to be humble in ways I didn't know you had to be and because of that me and my comp are absolutely grinding out powerful, personal lessons (also I CAN FREAKING SPEAK SPANISH KINDA). We have 33 people we're teaching, and they are all ready to progress... we just don't have enough time haha. Hard work pays off; the lord loves effort!!!

Sooooo, for all the missionaries reading this, I apologize in advance. Me and my BOI elder martin downstairs decided because our AC died and it's freaking hot at night, we were gonna move our mattresses outside and sleep on the roof (elders, obedience is key). It was a great night and I'm learning to open up about things, but we did get in a wee bit of trouble. (No regrets hehe). But fr, if y'all want success obedience is everything so don't do that haha.

So I said that we had a lot of really powerful lessons, this is very true, but there's one where we got about 8 kids together with their kind of local hero (owns their place of work and isn't related to them at all but they all look up to him, he's like 38). We learned in this lesson that none of these kids have a dad and this is a great trial in their lives. I was able to convey my story of trials and relate principals that I learned while going through crap. Now as y'all know, I never cry, so it was a cool experience bearing my deepest testimony yet in Spanish and not crying... :). Either way we saw the spirit change these kids' attitudes and countenances. Most powerful lesson I've ever been a part of.

This week I'm studying the principles of Christ like love, charity. Just like faith and hope love is a powerful tool in the hands of someone centered on Christ. Sometimes in life we may not feel loved. I can guarantee you, with every bone in my body I know that when you don't feel love that is not because of who you are or what you did, it is simply the adversary attempting to block the thing we need the most. I learned the way to see through this thin cloud is by loving others. When we love others as Christ does, we open a gateway for God to pour out his infinite love for us. I am a witness of this as I've seen kids who have never known the love of an earthly father, feel for the first time, the love of their heavenly father. So, I implore you, if you don't feel like you are loved or wanted, find someone who feels the same, because there always is. Serve them, help them feel the love their God has for them and you will be filled with God's love for you at the same time. I am a solemn witness of this power and bare testimony of it in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amén.

Love you guys!
- Elder LaBass
