Week 5
ONE MORE WEEK!!!!
Next week I leave for Oaxaca, (Wednesday to be exact) I'm so pumped for the field! Not too much happened this week, just studying a lot. We took our Spanish tests yesterday and I scored pretty dang good (not to brag or anything).
My district is so awesome and it's gonna be very sad to say goodbye. One of the Hermanas asked for a blessing of comfort and didn't tell me why. After the blessing she let me know that I had quoted her patriarchal blessing word for word. I know this power that I hold is from God and so long as we are worthy we can do amazing things with it. The priesthood is truly amazing.
On Sunday we had a group devotional about a talk we all listened to. We have done these many times before (about twice a week) but for some reason this one was much more powerful. (Probably because the second councilor pulled up so we all locked in haha). Either way the spirit was so strong and even though it was a small discussion, I was reminded of the power all children of God have access to. I am so grateful for the gift of the holy ghost and the joy it brings to my life. This life would be so much harder and in some cases almost impossible without it.
I guess I have a pretty nasty spider bite on my finger. I need to get checked. One of my friends said his comp had the same thing and he spent 6 days in the hospital... I hate spiders.
But other than that it's just been studying spanish, volleyball (prepare yourself Ben), and mid food.
I know without a doubt that God has a plan for all of us. He watches over us and intends that we all have a chance to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ, our ticket home. One of the first principles we learn is that God is our loving Heavenly Father and he has a plan for us. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ this plan is made possible. Because of Jesus Christ we ALL have the opportunity to receive the blessings and joy of the plan of salvation. We are all children of God with divine DNA, so long as you turn to him, he will bless you in ways you don't even know are possible.
Next time I write I'll be in Oaxaca! Hasta luego!!!
