Week 2
I kid y'all not when I say that this week was the craziest week ever. My schedule is definitely the busiest it has ever been with classes and studies and meetings. I love it here haha. Just a couple of highlights:
- my district is AWESOME! It's already clear God put each and everyone of us together as we all need each other. I've grown so close with everyone and we all have such powerful testimonies. Whenever we get together for a devotional or for meetings we almost always end with tears. We are able to bring the spirit so strong, stronger than I've ever felt before. We each pray for each other, plan together, laugh and cry together, we are already a family and honestly we have been since day one. We have already given a blessing that changed an elders testimony and life forever, and helped others to start the path of repentance. I can see God's hand in each of their lives and I testify that he has a plan for all of us and all of you.
- My Spanish is growing fast! Each day I feel the gift of tongues, so long as I put in effort to learn, the spirit guides my thoughts and gives me understanding. There was a specific day where EVERYONE in our district felt the gift of tongues so strong we couldn't help but bear testimony of it that night. I can promise that if you put in effort with righteous intent and seek for God's help, he will magnify your efforts so much that you will be able to remember that Tree in Spanish is arbole. Haha but as your effort increases, so does God's magnifying power.
- I'm also serving as the district leader!!!! I was given the chance to be a DL on my first full day and me and my comp jumped on the opportunity to help others gain their testimonies along with ours. It has been amazing leading this family through discussions and devotionals. We are working on personal study goals and because of our cramped schedule we decided to study in the morning... which means 6am... worth it. As we made time for God in our lives we saw the fruits of our labour as our understanding and capacity increased exponentially and I can promise that if you do the same, God will exalt you on high.
There is so much more to come and I have so much more to learn! My biggest lesson this week was my devotion to christ. If you haven't, go read John chapter 21: specifically verse 15. I've realized that I loved some of my fish more than God and had to make some painful changes (no more cool socks as they are against the missionary standards). My devotion to Christ has changed so much and I've realized small things can keep you from the true love of God and power of Christ. I can confidently say that if you cast your nets aside and follow Christ, you will be blessed beyond your own understanding.
